Listen: broadband price hike warning

Do you think it’s acceptable that broadband providers raise prices – included in a signed contract – and blame high inflation? Or should they stay true to their customer, and honour their promise?

Well, almost half (48%) would consider changing their broadband provider if this happened to them, while an overwhelming 75% support the proposed ban on the practice from regulator Ofcom, with a formal decision to be announced sometime this Spring.

That’s according to new research from Zen Internet, as many across the UK expect to see their contract prices be hiked by as much as 8.8% next month – in line with 4% inflation rate announced in January – which suggests we may be set to see a great exodus from the ‘Big Four’ broadband providers in favour of smaller firms.
