Listen: calls for clearer labelling

Today, calories will be labelled on menus and out of home food labels to help us make healthier choices when eating out.

The measures, which form part of the government’s wider strategy to tackle obesity, are intended to help the public make more informed, healthier choices when it comes to eating in restaurants, delis, or ordering takeaways.

Around 70% of us believe it should be mandatory for industries to follow suit when it comes to labelling their environmental impact and nearly a quarter (24%) think this is more important that calorie labelling, according to adventure travel company Explore Worldwide.

Aston spoke to Michael Edwards, managing director at Explore Worldwide.
