Iron deficiency is the most common form of malnutrition, affecting up to 25% of women, with 2.1bn living with iron deficiency worldwide. However, two fifths of women are not aware that monthly periods are the most common cause.

New research released today by Active Iron has revealed that 41% of women have experienced dizziness and extreme fatigue, with 40% also experiencing cold hands and feet and headaches, all symptoms of iron deficiency. 81% of those surveyed say they ‘just put up with these symptoms’, as nearly a third (30%) say they feel they would be wasting doctor or nurses time if they were to seek help.
