Listen: concerns for lost DIY generation

Despite seeming like simple DIY tasks research suggests there’s an entire generation ‘screwed’ when it comes to tasks like these, with three-quarters (77%) of Gen Zedders not very confident in their ability to complete simple DIY tasks.

Nearly one in five Gen Z respondents (19%) admit they don’t even have the tools needed to hang a picture, while 14% blamed a lack of skills for avoiding DIY tasks. 18% said they’ve never even used an Allen key.

And it’s not just the younger generation – the figures by Airtasker show 1.45 million UK households don’t own a screwdriver!
