The first Monday of 2025 has been labelled ‘Divorce Day’ – the most popular day of the year for couples to commence divorce proceedings.
The influx of couples choosing to end their marriage at the start of the year is a result of the festive period highlighting and magnifying strains and strife’s in the relationship, with 1 in 10 couples viewing the Christmas as make or break their marriage.
New research by law firm Slater and Gordon revealing the alarming statistics that over 1 in 8 (12%) married couples say they want a divorce as we enter the new year.
