Listen – don’t do yourself a disservice
As the UK faces a sharp rise in the cost-of-living, millions of UK households are having to make tough financial decisions. Gas and electricity bills have surged with the introduction of the new price cap, council tax and Vehicle Excise Duty (road tax) have increased, whilst petrol and diesel prices at the pumps have recently hit record levels, and inflation has spiralled to a 30-year high.
And with a new tax year beginning tomorrow, the vast majority of UK taxpayers face having even less money in their pockets as National Insurance contributions rise by 1.25%.
For many, the temptation is to cut back on what they deem to be unnecessary, and fresh research released today by The Motor Ombudsman, the Ombudsman dedicated to the automotive sector, reveals that 56% of UK car owners, who do not currently have a service plan in place*, are planning to miss (33%) or delay (23%) their vehicle’s annual service this year.
Aston spoke to Bill Fennell, chief Ombudsman and manging director at The Motor Ombudsman.
