What does a festive work gathering, Christmas celebrations with the family and a Friday night around the Christmas tree with friends all have in common? A Great British Picky Bits Tea, or for some of us, a top-notch buffet.

Pigs in blankets (31%), mini sausage rolls (29%), and a cheese platter (27%) rank as our top three choices for a festive buffet as our love for a ‘picky bits’ tea, especially over the festive period, is at the very heart of our Christmas gatherings.

New research by Co-op has found a third of adults (33%) say they are much more likely to attend a work or social event if it has a picky bits spread, with almost half (49%) agreeing they prefer Christmas parties with a buffet over a sit-down meal.
