Have you ever imagined you could use your mind to control video games? Live in a world where cows alert farmers to when they’re ready to be milked? Ever dreamt Zoom meetings with colleagues will one day be replaced by holographic calls? While these may sound straight from the pages of science fiction… the reality might not be too far off – or indeed already exist.

The latest research from Samsung explores the extent to which Britons understand the benefits of 5G. Over half (53%) admit they don’t understand the capabilities of 5G while two in three (65%) believe there is a woeful lack of knowledge about the network.

The research coincides with the running of the Whatever Next? podcast series. Hosted by mathematician, Dr Hannah Fry and award-winning comedian Suzi Ruffell, each episode focuses on a different hot topic. From personalising the ending of the films we watch, to re-inventing the food on our plates, every instalment will discover the many ways 5G is shaping our future – helping people get under the skin of its impact.

Aston spoke to Dr Hannah Fry, mathmetician & TV presenter to lift the lid on the many weird and wonderful ways 5G will impact our lives.
