The recent heatwave may have inspired barbecues, picnics and drinks in the pub after work, but for many it also brought sleepless nights, stuffy homes and sweaty clothes…

In fact, new research from Velux has revealed that over a quarter (28%) of Brits admitted to feeling irritated by the heat, with a mere two in five (40%) claiming the heat makes them happy. One in seven (14%) Brits also claim to be more sensitive to little annoyances in summer months.

From unpredictable irritability to the never-ending feeling of being uncomfortable, experts have dubbed the phenomenon, ‘Heatred’ – a hatred for the heat.
