Listen: post Easter weight loss tips
Over half of UK adults (53%) say that just one setback can derail them from their weight loss goals, with a quarter saying it can make them feel like abandoning their weight loss journey altogether.
Over three quarters (77%) have previously attempted to lose weight and, on average, people have tried to lose weight seven times in their lifetime.
Almost one in four (38%) say feeling hungry has caused them to experience a setback when trying to lose weight, while nearly one in three (29%) say the reason was a stressful life event, and a quarter say it was missing out on their favourite foods.
The survey* commissioned by Slimming World reveals that the top temptation for slimmers is having unhealthy snacks such as chocolate, crisps and biscuits in the house (41%).
Aston spoke to Dr Amanda Avery, health & research consultant dietitian at Slimming World.
