Listen: Rory Reid on family arguments at Christmas

With Christmas Day just over a week away people will be thinking about getting everything ready – especially the food, decorations, and presents. However, something we also should prepare for is the family debates around the dinner table. In fact, 60% admit to having debates during the festive season, and 20% say these occur frequently!

For nearly 1 in 5 of us (18%), the person most likely to spark a debate at the Christmas dinner table changes every year. When handling these lively discussions, 3 in 10 favour an active approach and add their opinions to the mix, whereas 1 in 5 (19%) prefer to make jokes to lighten the mood instead of adding to the drama!

New research from Auto Trader reveals that one such topic is the environment and climate change (18%). In fact, when it comes to sustainability, a common topic is around electric vehicles (EVs) specifically debates around the price of electric cars (26%), reliability of electric cars vs petrol cars (19%), and the impact of renewable energy sources on the environment (25%).
