Listen: tips on indentifying wines

Whether it’s searching for the perfect accompaniment to a special meal at home, or perhaps trying to find the apt gift to satisfy the ‘bring a bottle’ memo at a party, new research has highlighted how confusing many of us find picking the perfect bottle of wine.

When it comes to marching up and down the wine aisle, a quarter of adults (23%) admit they find it a rather stressful experience. More than half (51%) feel there are too many options available, while 46% don’t know how to identify a good bottle from a bad bottle.

The new research by Lidl, who are running a festive wine tasting in the dark event series, also reveals over a quarter (27%) still assume premium labels are better quality, nearly 1 in 3 (31%) find ‘wine etiquette’ snobbish and more than 1 in 10 find it intimidating, adding further confusion to the wine buying process.
