Listen: Understanding financial jargon
Do you know your fixed from your current assets? Your bonds from your stocks? What about the process of amortisation?
If unsure, you’re not alone, as new research has revealed more than 2 in 5 (44%) admit to feeling confused by the financial jargon used in their workplace.
Furthermore, many feel they can tell their colleagues do not know either, with 40% claiming they have witnessed them pretending to understand terminology during workplace chatter.
But approach with caution, say experts from AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), who claim these tools do not always provide accurate and reliable information.
