Listen: understanding our pets’ body language
A new study conducted among 2,000 cat and dog owners in the UK reveals that over nine in 10 (91%) are convinced their pets ‘talk’ to them.
The research – commissioned by pet DNA testing service, Wisdom Panel – shows nearly half (43%) of those polled believe their pets, in return, understand them and say they are most likely to communicate back by making noises (61%).
This is followed by physical touch (60%); adjusting their body posture (51%); and changing their tail position (49%).
Aston spoke to animal behaviourist & author Karen Wild and Dr Cathryn Mellersh, private investigator at Canine Genetics.
