Living room trends for 2022 dominated by sustainability and smart tech

It can be hard to keep up with interior design trends but if you haven’t already done so, it’s time to ditch the doilies and show off your statement rug, as the latest trends for 2022 have been revealed!

Three-piece suites, drinks trolleys and inspirational wall quotes are out – corner sofas, sustainable furniture and smart tech are in. That’s according to the news research commissioned by Sky Glass, which also suggests we are finding the ‘snug’ style living room to be dated and that we would rather opt for an open plan space, with design choices reflecting a more multipurpose way of living.

Tech also plays a key role in our living room experience, with almost half of Brits (46%) having four or more tech products in their front rooms. Smart speakers lead the top trends, closely followed by having a wall mounted TV– likely since more than a third (34%) of us say one of their biggest pet peeves is lots of messy wires.
