Love Island’s Amy Hart reveals fear of being scammed again as scams surge at Christmas

Almost half of the country, around 46%, say they were targeted by scammers through the last year.

A large share have either lost money or had their personal details compromised, or know someone close to them who has. People can feel it happening. 76% believe scams have clearly increased and that creates a real sense of worry.

The research from Microsoft shows how wide the problem has become. Delivery scams now top the list, affecting 34% of people. Banking impersonation follows at 22%, then fake prize wins at 20%, government style messages at 19% and job offer scams at 17%.
