Masterchef’s Shelina Permalloo on Eid Cost of Living Impact

It’s that special time of the year again, folks! Ramadan is in full swing, bringing along its vibrant traditions, spiritual renewal, and, oh, the glorious Iftar feasts! But we hear you, times are a tad bit tighter this year, and we’re all feeling that squeeze on our wallets. But hey, who says you can’t continue sprinkling a little joy on your final Ramadan meals and impending Eid celebrations without breaking the bank?

But first, let’s face it – research from ASDA found that over 89% of British Muslim voiced concerns that the cost-of-living pinch might dampen this year’s Ramadan spirits, and over 90% are worried about it impacting their upcoming Eid celebrations.

Half of British Muslims (50%) say they’re cutting back on food and having to cut back on Eid gifts (34%) as well as not being able to eat out as much or at all (18%).
