A new campaign by Border Force, ABTA – The Travel Association and global charity Hope and Homes for Children is urging UK tourists NOT to visit overseas orphanages.
The #EndOrphanageTourism campaign launches today at UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, and Stanstead.
Border Force officers are warning passengers departing to popular orphanage tourism hotspots (such as Thailand, Nepal, India and Africa) not to visit orphanages while on their travels.
New research by Hope and Homes for Children found that 57%Â of Brits either have, or would donate money, visit, or volunteer in orphanages abroad.
