New good travel index created

Travel, accommodation and days out are all things we look at when decided where to go on holiday and perhaps more recently, the impact our trip will have.

In fact, 67% of holidaymakers consider ethical factors when deciding on a travel destination, including sustainability, human rights (women’s and LGBTIQ+), press freedom, animal welfare, and the wellbeing and quality of life, according to new research by Holiday Extras.

When travelling, the only thing we should be leaving is footprints in the sand and 12% of us consider responsible travel the most significant factor when booking our holiday, with the human rights record of the end destination (48%) and the impact of their trip on climate change (15%) being the most significant elements.

Aston spoke to Ant Clarke Cowell from Holiday Extras and Ben Lynam from The Travel Foundation.
