Nutritionists share tips on how to get back on track with gut health

BRITS have revealed their top 5 self-care goals for the year: better physical health, better sleep, improved mental health, improved nutrition and a desire to improve their gut health.

We really looked forward to the Christmas period as a whole: 21% shared that it’s the only time of year we get to truly switch off, or to get together with the whole family (26%). Another two in five (40%) loved the indulgent food, whilst one in 20 of us felt it was acceptable to dig into our favourite festive fare as soon as the weather turned colder.

In fact, data from Marks & Spencer’s own customers shows that we could all do with a little help when it comes to gut health and how to improve it. Despite 76% of customers saying they are aware of gut health as a concept, only 39% had a good understanding of exactly what it is.

Aston spoke to Marks & Spencer’s senior nutritionist Rebecca Brown and scientific co-founder of ZOE Professor Tim Spector.
