Pumpkin Patch awards and halloween traditions

They’re a generous lot in East England when it comes to treating trick or treaters this Halloween with 19% of households saying they will be spending over £20 on treats. 

The region also performs well with households that say they will actively give out sweets on Halloween too (79%) ahead of Yorkshire and Humber and Wales.       

It comes as a new study by Trick or Treat reveals over half (52%) of UK households admit to pretending they’re not at home on Halloween to avoid trick-or-treaters.

To help, Trick or Treat provides an interactive map so families can plan the ultimate Halloween night, cutting out the guesswork by showing which houses are participating.

In a new addition for 2025, the platform has introduced the Pumpkin Patch Awards, recognising the very best farms across Britain. With trophies for both county-level winners and the Best British Pumpkin Patch, the awards celebrate creativity and community spirit. Hatters Farm in Bishop’s Stortford, Essex was this year’s winner.
