Road Safety Week

There are more than 40 million drivers in the UK and despite the risk of six penalty points and a £200 fine, more than 10% of people admit they’re likely to text whilst driving this Road Safety Week.

Furthermore, almost a third (31%) would accept a call whilst driving with 9% replying to emails, according to new research from consumer legal services company Slater and Gordon.

Worryingly, despite the Highway Code changing almost one year ago, more than half (52%) are unaware that pedestrians are at the top of the new road users’ hierarchy.

Aston spoke to Nick Hagi-Savva, senior associate lawyer at Slater and Gordon.
