Scarlette Douglas reveals the latest eco home trends
British households are turning to eco-friendly home upgrades in their droves to save money on their energy bills, as the cost of living including gas and electricity prices continues to rise.
But, while cost-cutting remains the chief driver when it comes to the adoption of green features, a growing number of homeowners (64%) also see adopting energy-efficient improvements as a way of boosting the value of their property.
The investment is paying dividends with 95% of those who have made eco-friendly upgrades already seeing their bills decrease, with many households estimating that these changes have brought their bills down by over £300 per year on average. The most popular sustainable improvements include smart meters, LED lighting, and solar panels, according to Smart Energy GB, with demand for eco-friendly homes up since 2020.
