A quarter (26%) of Brits aged 55 and over feel “left behind” by today’s TV, despite being the generation who watch it most.
According to the Upper Third Report, a new study commissioned by freeview channel Great! TV, the over-55s are the age group who feel the most ignored by modern programme makers.
Despite older Brits watching 2-4 hours of television a day, the most of any age group, around half say today’s TV schedules prioritise younger audiences by favouring reality-show formats over the type of shows they grew up loving.
