Simon Calder revealing the most welcoming destinations
This year, York has been declared the sixth most welcoming destination in the world, beating the likes of Ushuaia in Argentina and Mexico’s own Mexico City.
As the nation starts to plan out their holidays, the 11th annual Booking.com Traveller Review Awards recognise providers from across 220 countries and territories for their commitment to hospitality over the course of the year, drawing on almost 240 million reviews from real travellers on Booking.com.
Across the UK, ten more destinations have been commended for their hospitality. These span the length of the nation, from Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland all the way to Glastonbury in Somerset.
Aston spoke to travel journalist Simon Calder.
