New research by Tesco Dance Beats reveals that more than half of the nation (52%) confesses to having no sense of rhythm and lack of coordination (51%) on the dancefloor. As a result, more than a third (37%) of stumbling Brits admitting to having fallen over when busting a move causing a disco disaster.

In the poll of 2,000 amateur dancers, nearly half (48%) own up to embarrassing themselves, while almost a quarter (22%) admit to having embarrassed their partner with their moves and an incredible 11% confessed to having actually cleared a dancefloor!

Despite the technical troubles, there are certain songs that Brits simply cannot resist toe-tapping along to. According to the survey, the ultimate floor filler is Queen’s legendary 1979 hit Don’t Stop Me Now – with over a quarter (26%) saying it’s the song they simply can’t resist dancing to.

Aston spoke to Oti Mabuse, “Strictly Come Dancing” professional and captain on “The Greatest Dancer” to discuss the reason behind Tesco Dance Beats UK.
