Sustainable travel high on the agenda for Brits

Sustainable tourism is higher than ever on the agenda for world travellers with the most recent Sustainable Travel Report from Booking.com (2021) revealing that the pandemic has been the tipping point for people to finally commit to their own sustainable journey.

Almost two thirds (61%) stated that the pandemic has influenced them to want to travel more sustainably in the future with almost half (49%) admitting that the pandemic has shifted their attitude to make positive changes in their everyday lives. The increased focus on sustainability is so much so that nearly three quarters (72%) feel that they must act now to save the planet for future generations.

But what exactly is ‘sustainable tourism’? Intrepid Travel are globally renowned as leaders in responsible travel and are the only global tour operator with verified science-based carbon reduction targets. They offer more than 1,000 trips on every continent aiming to create positive change through the joy of travel.
