We’ve all shouted at the TV and questioned the referee’s eyesight so it’s no surprise that Goal-line technology, Hawk-Eye in tennis and photo finish imagery in horse racing and running are the best tech innovations in sports broadcast, according to research just published.
The study of 2-thousand sports lovers by BT Sport found tech has improved their enjoyment of sport for over three-quarters of them (76%). Instant replays, rewinding live TV and slow-motion also make the top ten list.
VAR….otherwise known as Video Assistant Referee….was overwhelmingly voted as the worst, with two-thirds of those questioned saying it should be scrapped.
