The Beast and the Bethany

The Beast and The Bethany is a fun tale about Ebenezer Tweezer a youthful 511-year old who keeps a beast in the attic of his grand mansion. Ebenezer feeds his beast all sorts, from performing monkeys, his own pet cat and the odd cactus too.

In return of his meals, the beast vomits out presents for Ebenezer, in addition to potions which keep him looking young and beautiful. This can’t go on forever, as the beast grows greedier and greedier and soon only a tasty child will do. When Ebenezer encounters an orphan called Bethany, he thinks he’s found his key to everlasting life but it seems that Bethany is not your average orphan.

The new launch has all the classic macabre humour of Roald Dahl, the warmth and charm of Despicable Me, topped with a bite of Little Shop of Horrors!

The Beast and The Bethany has been snapped up by Warner Brothers and Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts producer, David Heyman.

Aston spoke to author, scriptwriter and playwright Jack Meggitt-Phillips to discuss about his new novel and also how it has been snapped up by Warner Brothers to be made into a film.
