The Great Daffodil Appeal 2023

On Monday 6th March, charity Marie Curie will kickstart The Great Daffodil Appeal 2023 – their annual flagship fundraising appeal, now in its 37th year, aimed at supporting vital end of life care.

Every year, thousands of people from across the UK come together, donning their daffodils to encouraging people to donate and wear one of the charity’s iconic daffodil pin badges through the month of March. Sports stars from across the nations and celebrities will also wear their daffodils with pride to further raise the profile of the appeal, with the money donated helping to support the charity’s nurses, doctors, and hospital staff as well as it’s Information and Support Line, which provides a listening ear or practical support with all aspects of death, dying and bereavement.

Every five minutes someone in the UK dies without the care and support they need. Last year Marie Curie provided direct support to more than 46,000 people, while it’s Information and Support line engaged with thousands of people via phone and web chat.

Aston spoke to Claire Morris, head of fundraising at Marie Curie.
