The most responsible travel destination revealed

Scandinavia is setting the standard for ethical travel in 2025, with Denmark claiming the number one spot in the 4th annual Good Trip Index.  

The index, launched in 2022, ranks global destinations based on criteria that matter most to responsible travelers — including sustainability, human rights, and climate impact.  

Since the launch, responsible travel has reached a tipping point with events caused by climate change and over-tourism leading to the introduction of new legislation in some holiday hotspots to promote the preservation of the destination.

Aston spoke to travel experts Ben Lynam from Travel Foundation and Elizabeth Hogg, COO at Holiday Extras.
