The secret recipe to the perfect Xmas Gravy

New research from Ocado has revealed the hardest parts of a Christmas dinner to master, and a delicious gravy, crispy roast potatoes and a moist turkey seem to be the most challenging to get right on the big day.

Despite over three quarters of people (76%) claiming the dinner is one of their favourite things about Christmas, 49% are relieved when it’s not their turn to host with just under half (46%) saying expectations are always set too high. Nearly a quarter (24%) struggle to get timings for a Christmas dinner right with 32% admitting they’ve had to make something again from scratch after messing it up.

The much-anticipated feast can cause arguments among household members, with two thirds preferring to be left alone in the kitchen while cooking, but it’s the gravy and turkey that become the two main sore spots when done wrong.
