Tim Campbell MBE on the new talking futures campaign
New research has revealed 4 in 10 (41%) parents of teenagers fear their children will struggle in their future career because they’re not prepared for the workplace.
The study by Talking Futures – which also surveyed their children aged 11-18 – highlighted that young people share the same worries, with over half (53%) feeling nervous about starting work. However, three-quarters (78%) believe a qualification that includes workplace experience would make them feel more confident about entering their first job.
Talking Futures is a campaign by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation that seeks to improve parents’ understanding of the education options available today, particularly high-quality technical qualifications like T-levels, apprenticeships and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs).
Aston spoke to Tim Campbell MBE, entrepreneur and star of The Apprentice and Michelle Rea, head of communications at Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
