TV presenter Ade Adepitan on sustainable travel

New research gathered from more than 30,000 travellers across 32 countries and territories has found the newest priorities for those going abroad.

The most extensive sustainable travel research to date from online travel agency Booking.com found that 71% of respondents confirmed travelling sustainably is important to them, with almost half of respondents (42%) saying recent news on climate change has influenced their views and choices. In the UK, 57% say they want to travel more sustainably over the coming 12 months, an increase of 27% compared to figures from last year.

A quarter of UK travellers say the sustainability efforts of accommodations and transport providers has an impact on their decisions when away from home, and 55% say they’re more likely to choose accommodation that prioritises sustainability, despite whether they were specifically looking for conscious accommodation.
