UK campaign group calls for Brits to stop drinking cow’s milk

A powerful new TV ad is being aired from today which urges people to boycott dairy and choose plant-based milks instead. 

The ad, made by campaign group Animal Aid, who are urging consumers to ‘Choose Compassion, Choose Vegan’ shows a typical modern dairy farm with animals housed inside units – a reality which stands in stark contrast to the idyllic images commonly used to promote milk. 

Today, there are more than 1.6 million cows used for dairy in the UK. Animal Aid say the industry causes systemic suffering because cows are impregnated in order to simulate milk production and have their calves taken at birth.
