Vet calling on pet-owners to learn pet first aid

Latest figures from leading vet charity, PDSA, reveal that 75% of owners wouldn’t know how to perform CPR on their pet in an emergency, potentially putting millions of animals across the UK at risk.

More than half (56%) admit they wouldn’t know what to do if their pet was having a seizure, while almost a quarter (24%) aren’t sure how to help their pet if they were suffer from heatstroke. And a third (37%) would feel clueless on what steps to take if their furry companion broke a bone.

While just 10% of owners have ever received any pet first aid training, two thirds (67%) agree that they should have a basic understanding of first aid.
