Waitrose Food and Drink Report 2022-23 analyses the big trends of the year

The Waitrose Food and Drink Report 2022-23, released today, reveals that once forgotten and tinned foods are back on the menu.

Among the more unexpected findings from Waitrose’ figures are that sales of fish heads and Spam are up 34% and 36% respectively.

Beef shin, ox cheek and lamb neck sales have also soared, indicating more Britons are choosing to ‘cook from scratch’.

Social media also influences our food choices and the rise of food and drink ASMR content means it’s no longer just about how food looks, but how it sounds and moves.

Aston spoke to journalist Elly Curshen a.k.a Elly Pear and Zoe Simons, innovation development Chef at Waitrose.
