We’re all goin’ on a ECO holiday

With the summer holidays just around the corner, new data highlights that more than half (57%) of British families are planning a ‘staycation’ this year and are looking to enjoy the best of what Britain has to offer.

Up to 100 million visitors are likely to flock to the UK’s top tourist attractions this year alone. With around half of the top day-out destinations not accessible via public transport, many day trippers and holidaymakers will be travelling by car, emitting over 600,000 tonnes of CO2 across 2023’s holiday season.

As we all look for greener ways of travel, only 1 in 10 of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions currently offer EV charging. To help electric motorists plan both environmentally friendly and fun days out, GRIDSERVE has created the ‘EV Holiday Hotspot Index’.
