Why do we shy away from awkward chats?

A new report released today lays bare the financial and emotional impact that not talking to our loved-ones about life’s big issues is having on people up and down the UK.

The research, from life insurance broker LifeSearch, found that more than a quarter of Brits (27%) have been affected by the loss of a loved-one whose contingency status was unknown. Of these people, around half (48%) have been left with a bill of between £1,000 and £5,000 to cover unforeseen short-term expenses such as funeral bills and outstanding commitments.
