Why people are eating straight olive oil online?
As New Year health trends take shape, one simple ritual is gaining attention: a daily spoonful of extra virgin olive oil. Popularised by social media and celebrity endorsement – including Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyoncé – the habit is rooted in long-standing Mediterranean diets and increasingly backed by research.
Extra virgin olive oil is the juice of crushed olives, produced without heat or chemicals. While a spoonful a day is the popular starting point, studies suggest 30–50ml daily over time is needed to deliver the full health benefits.
Healthy fats slow the absorption of carbohydrates and sugars later in the day. Starting the morning with EVOO may help stabilise blood sugar levels, reduce energy crashes and curb sugar cravings, benefits that are especially relevant for people managing insulin sensitivity or pre-diabetes. The British Heart Foundation says olive oil is a healthy source of unsaturated fats and supports heart health when consumed as part of a balanced diet.
