A new study has revealed that 79% of UK holidaymakers take on the responsibility of organising trips on behalf of their group, with Millennials (84%) most likely generation to be the ‘Chief Holiday Organiser’ (CHO). But whilst many relish the control, others find the task overwhelming and underappreciated.
According to research by KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine, 46% of holiday planners find the process stressful, with women (50%) more likely than men (40%) to feel this way. The biggest challenges? Staying within budget (47%), finding the right destination (30%), and coordinating schedules with fellow travellers (24%).
From choosing the right destination to keeping everyone happy, being the group’s holiday organiser can be a tough gig, so it should come as no surprise that tension and troubles are often brewing under the surface. In fact, 41% have experienced arguments or tensions due to holiday planning, and 1 in 4 (24%) have had a holiday ruined by poor planning and miscommunication, with Gen Z (47%) most affected.
