A mission to inspire young innovators

Pupils across the UK are being encouraged to hone their innovation skills, with a new national competition aiming to help young people get creative to find and propose sustainable solutions for the big challenges facing the world.

With creativity (54%) being listed as the top skill that UK adults believe will help benefit students or young people’s pursuit of becoming successful innovators, The National Innovation Challenge is a new competition that enables schools, sixth forms, and Further Education (FE) college students individually, or in groups of up to three, to outline and propose sustainable solutions for current and future industry challenges.

The deadline to apply is 14th March 2025.

Ryan spoke to Keith Smith, chief executive of Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Collages.
