Are households too hesitant to switch energy tariffs?
For many households, switching energy has become something to delay rather than act on. Not because it is too complex to understand, but because in a climate shaped by war, volatility and constant negative headlines, the risk of getting it wrong can feel higher than the potential reward.
New research from Uswitch reveals that energy switching hesitation is now impacting households. More than one in three people (36%) say they have avoided switching energy tariffs because they were worried about making the wrong decision.
That hesitation is being fuelled by relentless news about the energy market. Nearly half (48%) say constant coverage of energy prices, the price cap, wars and global events has made it harder to know what to do to get the best deal.
Ros spoke to Natalie Mathie, energy expert at Uswitch.
