Brits think ice cream, wine and biscuits count toward their plant-based food consumption

They say variety is the spice of life, but new research suggests Britons’ diets are anything but.

Just two in 5 (41 per cent) people will enjoy a different dinner each day of the week, while more people have the same breakfast every single day (20 per cent) than go for something different each time (19 per cent).

The study, carried out by Yakult, looked into how diverse Brits diets are and found the average person will have just 10 different plant foods throughout the week, with a quarter (24 per cent) eating less than five.

Freya spoke to nutritionist Kate Llewelyn-Waters.
