Could a well maintained garden up the value of our homes?

As thousands of garden enthusiasts across the country descend on Gardeners World Live this week (12-15th June), the former Head Gardener at The National Trust and author of around 30 gardening books is on a mission to show the nation improving your garden could be the key to adding value to your home.

Simon Akeroyd is giving his tips as new research shows a well-maintained garden can add up to 20% to the market value of your home, and it’s something Brits are really considering when looking to spend their money.

The figures by Raisin show more than half of us (57%) think it is important to take time to plan and research options before making changes to our garden, with more than two-fifths (46%) likely to make changes to their garden based on the season.

Ros spoke to Simon Akeroyd, former head gardner at The National Trust and author and Dave Walls from Raisin.
