Drive to close knowledge gap of breast cancer recurrence

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancer types globally, with more than two million new cases in 2022 alone.

For people living with early breast cancer, getting the ‘all clear’ after treatment can feel like the finish line, but they face the unspoken reality that their cancer could return, even after decades.

In fact, 1 in 5 women with early breast cancer experience recurrence, yet only 26% of patients are fully informed about this risk by their healthcare professionals.

A survey of people living with breast cancer, by Novartis Pharmaceuticals has revealed that 81% have experienced fear of recurrence.
