Essex County Council encouraging people to take up an early years apprenticeship

The early years sector has gone through a recruitment crisis post covid and with extra nursery time being made available to families in 2024, Essex County Council is running a campaign to attract more people into the sector.

Supporting the campaign is George Tillson, based in Basildon, who is currently taking an apprenticeship at Munchkins Nursery in Laindon. He has benefited from hands-on experience, as he found college classroom settings to be overwhelming. He has created lasting relationships with other members of staff and has plans to work towards becoming a SENCO when he qualifies.
