Essex Probation Service

People in Essex are being urged to consider job opportunities in the Probation Service as HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) launches a recruitment drive in the region. These include a range of roles helping to protect the public and support rehabilitation of people on probation.

Despite bad press recently about the Probation Service due to the high profile rape and murder cases of Jordan McSweeney and Damien Bendall, is it the kind of profession that is likely to be attractive to newcomers?  Essex resident Alex Naughton believes so, and says becoming a Probation Officer has been a very rewarding job for her as she tries to help others.  Alex wants to share her journey into the role in the hope of inspiring other local residents to consider joining the service.  She chats with Gateway’s Ros Connors.

Applications to train to be a probation officer will open soon but you can register your interest now: https://jobs.justice.gov.uk/agency/probation-service/?utm_source=fc&utm_medium=essex-media&utm_campaign=pspr_jan23&utm_content=an_eoe
