Financially independent at 12 years old

Time seems to pass by very quickly when it comes to our children. One moment you’re cradling them in your arms and rocking them to sleep, the next you’re waving them off to school and dropping them off at their friends houses for parties and sleepovers.

Preparing our children for the big wide world is one of the most challenging things in life, and it is important to support children in their growth – however that independence looks.

In fact, a third of parents (30%) believe their kids should be gaining more independence by the age of ten and more than half (57%) think they should have it by 12, according to new research by Natwest Rooster Money.
