Has coffee replaced the ‘best china’ on the modern wedding lsit?

With peak wedding season in full swing, new research suggests the traditional wedding gift list is getting a modern makeover.

The days of “best china” and crystal glassware topping the registry may be falling out of favour, as couples increasingly prioritise gifts they will use every day rather than items saved for special occasions.

Research commissioned by De’Longhi found that one in three Brits (33%) would choose a premium coffee machine as the standout item on their dream wedding registry. That makes it almost three times more popular than crystal glassware (12%) or traditional crockery and dinnerware (12%).

Ros spoke to Lee Boniface, UK managing director at De’Longhi.
